Chief Olson has been with the City of Ulysses Police Department since June of 1986. He also received an award for 15 years of service presented by Mayor Stroh on April 30, 2001.

1987 Chief Olson received a Certificate of Commendation for his life saving efforts for extricating victims from a burning building.

1991 Chief Olson received a Meritorious Service Citation for undercover drug operations.

1992 Officer Olson received a Certificate of Commendation for Meritorious Service during the investigation of multiple armed robberies, wherein Chief Olson was the subject of a murder conspiracy.

1998 Chief Olson received a Certificate of Achievement Award for under cover drug operations.

2000 Chief Olson received two Certificates of Appreciation for solving numerous business burglaries in the Ulysses area.

2001 Chief Olson received a Certificate of Appreciation for his efforts in apprehending a shooting/kidnapping suspect.

Chief Olson became Chief of the Ulysses Police Department in 2004. He has 25 years of Law Enforcement experience.
