Resolution No. 1 dated September 4, 1968 created the Housing Authority and authorized five (5) members.  Members will serve for four (4) years.

The Ulysses Housing Authority operates 40 units of public housing. They are divided by the following categories: 12- 1 bedroom elderly units, 2 -2 bedroom elderly units, 22 - 3 bedroom family units, 4 - 4 bedroom family units.  

When a prospective tenant retrieves an application, there is an information sheet that is attached that answers several general questions. Prospective tenants are screened for a past history on rental history, credit history, and a criminal background check. The rent is calculated by a percentage of gross income minus various deductions depending on whether a person is elderly or in the family category.
